Information for Parents

It is with great excitement that I welcome you to your student’s ESL class for the first semester of the 2016-2017 school year.  My name is Ms. Koshar and I hope that this year will be a great experience for all.

My main goal for this school year is to help the students in my classes to be successful.  I hope for them to be successful in my class, as well as their other courses, and in nonacademic aspects of their lives.  Through encouragement and motivation I hope to help the students greatly improve their English language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

I also hope to become an advocate for your student.  This means that I will help them within the school and outside of it whenever possible.  I will help them communicate with other teachers, get involved in clubs and activities, and with anything else that comes along.

I also want you, as the parents and guardians of the students in my class, to feel comfortable contacting me with any questions or concerns for your student, or even for yourselves.  I will do everything I can to help.  If I cannot help, or do not know how to help, I will do everything I can to help you find out who can help.  I want to be a resource for the students and for their families.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns you can email me at hkoshar@trenton.k12.nj.us

I have also sent home a contact information sheet.  I hope that you and your student will complete it with your information and return it so that I can contact you throughout the year to keep you informed about your student’s progress.

I also look forward to seeing you at Back to School Night on September 15, 2016.

I look forward to a great year with your student and family.

There will be no school on Thursday, November 10th and Friday, November 11th.
